Variant Specially designed for model Tug-Towing and named the Variant, because of the many variants that can be made from the basic hull, the VARIANT Lighter is 'in' scale, Pulling or Pushing, with any tug, of any scale. Taking the basic shape of the old Wartime Transport 'VIC' concrete barges / lighters, and mixing in some modern model Tug-Towing technology, the VARIANT, so called because of the five options of finished appearances, is purpose built for the model 'TUGGER'. With square-ended-swims, straight sides, removable water ballast and a strong GRP hull, the VARIANT, short and very lightweight, allows easy transportation to the lake with the added benefit of coupling any number of boats together to give any number of configurations to suit your particular 'tow'. (i.e. 6 boats; 2 abreast x 3 long approx. 8ft (2.5m) long and 1 1/2ft (0.5m) wide.

Model Details GRP detailed hull, finished in our Rust colour Gel-coat (scratch the paint work and rust shows through) with wood deck and hatches. Scale = Although basically 1:32nd, this lighter is 'in' scale with any tug OAL = 33 1/4" (845mm) Beam = 8 1/2" (215mm)
